The Exit of a Legendary Political Reporter Posted on May 8, 2024 by Cyril I’ve never met Chris Matthews, but I watch him nightly during his top-rated show, Hardball, on MSNBC. Maybe because Chris Matthews and Lawrence O’Donnell are among the “older” anchors on MSNBC or because of their unique insight into how Washington works, I have developed great admiration and respect for these two TV personalities.
Trump Enablers and the Ballot Box Posted on January 31, 2021 by Cyril I followed Mallam Abba until the very last sentence. Just as we were taught in high school that a base neutralizes an acid, his last sentence completely neutralized any valid statements he may have made. It was without basis. It was without any seasoned reasoning. It was, in my opinion, a cliché. CLICK TO CONTINUE TO ARTICLE …
Donald Trump is Afraid of Life After the Presidency Posted on January 31, 2021 by Cyril Why is Donald Trump so scared of life after the presidency that he is willing to do anything including invoking the Insurrection Act in order to retain power? Yesterday, Watergate whistleblower John Dean told Anderson Cooper on CNN that he, Mr. Dean, was getting worried about Trump’s motives. Mr. Dean noted that many of Trump’s supporters have started to talk about “civil war.” CLICK TO CONTINUE TO ARTICLE …
Dr. Susan Rice for the Vice Presidency Posted on January 31, 2021 by Cyril After watching Dr. Susan Rice on Morning Joe this morning, I’m beginning to nurse the thought that she’ll get the call to be Biden’s VP. There’re a few facts most of us can agree on. One that appears uncontested is this: Biden will pick a woman of color, most likely a black woman as his running mate. CLICK TO CONTINUE TO ARTICLE …
Should Biden Pardon Trump? Posted on January 31, 2021 by Cyril The debate about a possible presidential pardon for Donald Trump has started. Spin it as much as we like, an undertone is that America wouldn’t like to see one of their ex-presidents in an orange jumpsuit even if that president has behaved in a way that clearly shows he’s no better than a gangster. Needless to recall that America has put presidents of other countries in orange jumpsuits for probably less offenses. CLICK TO CONTINUE TO ARTICLE …
Donald Trump and The National Prayer Breakfast Posted on January 31, 2021 by Cyril Mr. O’Donnell [of MSNBC] again at his show on Thursday February 6, 2020 brought his wisdom and understanding of Washington to break down Donald Trump’s meltdown during the National Prayer Breakfast held earlier in the day. He anchored his analysis on the word “love” — which he correctly pointed out Donald Trump does not understand. Mr. O’Donnell suggested that Trump may never have been loved. He doesn’t appear to love anyone. Donald Trump doesn’t even understand Jesus’ teaching in the scriptures about love. CLICK TO CONTINUE TO ARTICLE …
Coming Out of Mass Angry Posted on January 29, 2021 by Cyril Since the pandemic restricted attendance to Sunday masses, I always tune in to the Catholic TV network, EWTN (ewtn.com), for Sunday mass. EWTN has many wonderful priests, but I have always enjoyed the mass in a special way when celebrated by Fr. Joseph Mary, the bespectacled, white haired, white bearded soft spoken Franciscan priest. But this Sunday I came out of mass angry because Fr. Joseph Mary sounded more as the spokesperson for the Republican National Committee than a Catholic priest. CLICK TO CONTINUE TO ARTICLE …
Biden And Black Radio Station — Power 105 Posted on January 29, 2021 by Cyril After listening to a panel on MSNBC yesterday on this Biden Power 105 interview, I was reminded of Mr.Michael Kinsley’s definition of the word “Gaffe.” Michael Kinsley once said that “A gaffe is when a politician tells the truth – some obvious truth he isn’t supposed to say.” CLICK TO CONTINUE TO ARTICLE …
